Nominations will open at 12:00 on Thursday 10th November and will close at 12:00 on Monday 14th November 2011.

If you decide that you would like to run for a position, then you will need to nominate yourself. These are the steps you need to take:

• Make sure you are registered on www.susu.org, as you will need to be logged in before you can nominate yourself.
• Write your manifesto. Manifestos are only used on the www.susu.org elections website, so be creative!
• Create a photograph of yourself as a .jpeg, which must be at least 300x300 pixels in size.
• Design your poster. You don't need to submit your poster design online as you can print them yourself. You can find more details about this in the Publicity Guide. Your poster MUST fit to the template provided with the SUSU footer included along the bottom.
• Ensure that you have 2 students who will support you in your nomination, and ask around to see who wants to be in your campaign team. You will need the names and University of Southampton student ID numbers of your 2 supporters to submit with your nomination form.

• Once you have all of the items you need for the nomination form (as above), you need to visit www.susu.org/elections and complete the online nominations form, where you will be asked to submit everything electronically.
• This must all be done before the deadline which is 12:00 on Monday 14th November 2011. Late nominations may not be accepted.
• After your nomination has been submitted, the next step is to attend the compulsory Candidates Briefing on Monday 14th November 2011 at 12:00. At this briefing the Returning Officer will explain the rules to all candidates and provide a general overview on the spirit of the election.
• To assist you in running your campaign, SUSU will supply all candidates with a base Promotional Pack of the following:
  • Sabbaticals get 50 x A3 colour posters and a £30 budget.
  • Student Leaders get 20 x A3 colour posters and a £5budget.
  • Union Councillors get 5 x A4 posters and a no budget.
