Home Agenda Motions Amendments Council Chair Timetable Discuss Contacts

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Students' Union will take place on May 17th at 5pm in the Union Cinema. You can now view the agenda as well as submit an amendment to the motions

The time has come for you to change your university experience. Don’t like the Cube? Want to lobby the University about your 9am lectures? Wish you could get involved, join a club or ask important questions more easily? The AGM is the place for you to do all of these and more.

The AGM (Annual General Meeting) is the one time in the year when every student gets a vote on the big issues about how the Union is run and what is going to campaign for. As part of the Students’ Union, you can make sure that all aspects of your University experience are catered for properly.

The AGM is also your opportunity to ask the student officers you elected what they have achieved, and how they have dealt with certain issues - like the rise in fees. You also get to find out what the Union has been spending its money on, how much the food you have bought in the shop, and drinks you have bought in the Stag’s Head has brought in to the Union and what that money has been spent on.

We will also be electing the Chair of Union Council for 2011-12 at the AGM. Any student can stand for this position, but only people attending the AGM will be able to vote in the election.

What’s more, if you’ve got a good idea, or you want us to change something about your University experience, then you can present the Students’ Union with a motion at AGM, to make change happen.

The AGM Presentation

Emergency General Meeting

An Emergency General Meeting was called for Monday 28th March 2011 to discuss the issue of Student Leaders. It took place in the Union Cinema at midday.

The Sabbatical & Exec team gave a presentation on how the final proposal came about to Union Council on Monday 14th March and why some decisions were made to become proposals to the Council. There was then an opportunity for any student to ask a question on the proposals that were passed as policy at the last Council.
