Basketball

Welcome to the Southampton University Basketball Club. Our committee is dedicated to making your University experience the best it can be. With multiple competitive teams at all levels of the BUCS system, there are opportunities for anyone looking to play basketball and we are excited to meet any freshers at trials and welcome back the returners as we prepare for a successful 23/24 season. Read below for more information on trials, club structure and more!

TRIALS: Ladies Trials will be Saturday 30th September 9am-10:30am. Men's Freshers Trials will be held Saturday 30th September 10:30am-12pm. Whole club trials including those freshers who are invited from Saturday will be held on Sunday 1st October 9am-12pm.

Whether you have played before or are brand new to the sport, we have teams at all levels to cater to your experience. Our Men's 1st team compete in BUCS Western Tier 2 and we are hunting for promotion next season. We also compete in the local Wessex League Open Division 2. Our Men's 2nd team play in BUCS Western Tier 3 and were inches away from promotion last season. Our Women's 1st team play in BUCS Premier South and Wessex Women's League Division 1. We also have a host of teams in our Intramural system who play in the internal league within the university and there is always a space for anyone who wants to play. Follow us on our Instagram (@subc.sharks) and our Facebook ('Southampton University Basketball') for updates over the summer and more information towards the beginning of the new university year! Feel free to send us a DM on Instagram with any questions you might have.

We also hold a variety of socials throughout the year and different events, including a winter and summer ball, a wheelchair basketball charity event, All-Star Saturday and Varsity and we can't wait to bring you into our SUBC family.
