Riding

Sports Development

The Riding Club provides all types of riding at every level. We arrange a number of activities, ranging from socials and holidays to BUCS competitions and horseball. We aim to offer riding to everyone regardless of whether you have ridden on national teams or have never sat on a horse before.


Membership Information

These are the current membership plans offered by Riding, although many groups offer a free period for new members to try out their group.

  • Year Membership (£65)
    Enables members to take part in a range of activities such as lessons, hacking, competitive teams and horseball.

Archery

Indoor Individual Sports

Archery is a sport open to everyone. If you are already an archer just send us an email or turn up to one of our sessions, details can be found on the website.We run a beginners' course for the first 6 weeks of the academic year and most of our current members learned to shoot while at University, including our BUCS gold medallist. If you have not completed a beginners' course please contact us for information on our next course which will begin in October.We offer the opportunity for both new and experienced archers to regularly compete; last year our results included multiple BUCS medals for our novices, both in individual and team categories in both indoor and outdoor tournaments, 4th and 8th place finishes for our senior ladies and gents teams respectively in BUCS Outdoors and 6th and 7th place finishes for our senior ladies and gents teams respectively in BUCS Indoors
