The team consistently competes at the highest level in national University tournaments, with recent success in both snooker, 8-ball and 9-ball pool.
The club is very active with members of all abilities and is happy to embrace new members. Find out what we can offer members of the club by speaking to us at the Society Bunfight on Wednesday 27th September. We will be actively posting across social media, so to keep up-to-date follow us on Twitter (@SotonUniSnooker) and Facebook (Southampton University Snooker & Pool Club).
We will also be running a competition to earn a year's membership during Freshers Week, worth £45! So why not come along, improve your game, meet some new people, and enjoy the incredible facilities we have right here on campus. Still not sold? Look out for us at the Bunfight in Fresher's Week (Snooker & Pool Club) , and don't miss out on the chance to come and try out the facilities for free on our first club night held from 3pm-7pm on Sunday 1st October 2017, followed by curry afterwards.
We all look forward to seeing you there! Interested in playing competitively? We run team trials during the first week after Freshers Week, see us at the Bunfight or during the first club night to find out more.
Over the next year we will be running more cash-prize tournaments than ever. Those interested in trying out for the team; snooker team trials will be on both the Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th October, 8-ball pool trials running on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th October, and 9-ball pool trials running on Thursday 12th October. Snooker trials will consist of practice and in-game set-ups aimed at assessing the existing ability of a player (potting, safety play, current ability, stance), and any potential Pool trials will be consisting of participants competing in frames against each other.
Whilst wins will carry some merit, everyone will be considered based on the way they play, and whether employ strong tactical knowledge and potential to improve..

Pianosoc is a friendly environment for all people interested in listening to or performing piano of any genre, at any level. We generally discuss all things piano-related and even have a weekly dose of a brief introduction to a new pianist, to broaden our scope of the piano world for members for which it has not been so exposed to.We try to spread the love of piano music. Increase interest for the piano. Make more use of pianos lying around on campus by putting together concerts and playing times, perhaps even one day funding our own piano. We want to be able to offer members who want to pick up piano playing during their time at university classes, for all sorts of levels, ranging from people who have never touched a piano before to those who just want to continue practicing. Our society will cater adequately for pianists of all degrees, something no other society does especially for those piano players who aren't at a high enough level to join the university orchestra or at a low enough level to forget about piano playing altogether. We also offer piano lessons for both groups and individual ranging from beginners to advance levels. There is a definite demand for Pianosoc; many people play the piano but never really get to meet other pianists since an individual activity. We provide a network of pianists, teachers and people who just have a general love for piano music.
