Local Advice

Avoid walking down ‘Lovers Lane’ at night. This is a path on the edge of Southampton Common where you can walk between Highfield and Avenue Campus. If you do need to travel between the two campuses after dark, then you should take an alternative route through well-lit residential areas.

For students travelling between Highfield campus and Glen Eyre Halls of Residence, make sure that you also avoid cutting through the edge of Southampton Common at night. Instead, access campus from Burgess Road by walking past the petrol station and onto campus past the banks in the Gower Building.
