AU teams can compete in the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) league against other universities from all over the country in a range of different sports.
The AU also runs intra-mural leagues, which offer a more relaxed level of competition for the more laid back sportsperson. You could play for a variety of teams in the intra-mural leagues, as part of your halls, course or society.
For a bit of local competition, each year the AU competes against the University of Portsmouth in the Southampton vs Portsmouth Varsity Cup. Even if you don't compete i's a fantastic event to watch - especially as the SUSU AU usually wins!
