The University of Southampton’s Students’ Union (SUSU) exists to unlock the potential and enrich the life of every student. Upwards of 2000 students volunteer within SUSU to run our activities and we view these diverse volunteering opportunities as invaluable experiences for our students to learn and develop. We also employ over 400 staff who work in a huge variety of roles in the day-to-day running of the Union’s activities.

As Training Manager you will design, deliver and coordinate effective training programmes and events which ensure that all SUSU’s staff and volunteers receive the training they need to unlock their potential and develop in their roles.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring all our voluntary opportunities are well defined and you will work with managers to analyse the training needs of staff in order to maximise their experience and learning, adding to a bank of interesting and flexible training materials for our staff and volunteers.

Experienced in designing innovative training solutions, you will have a creative approach to problem solving coupled with excellent analytical skills. You will use your highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to work with students and staff. You will also manage the training department at SUSU, with line-management responsibilities for the People Development Coordinator.

If you have the energy and initiative to create and deliver training that will ultimately enhance the lives of our students and staff then we want to hear from you. In return, we offer excellent terms and conditions including final salary pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.

This post is a permanent position with contract hours of 35 hours per week. There is an occasional requirement for some evening and weekend work linked to the role, however, this is intended to be minimal (once termly).
