About | Role Profile | Pay & Terms |We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to work within our Finance Department to support our day-to-day operations of the Students’ Union. The role is based at the Students’ Union on the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks which will involve bank reconciliation, payroll, control of our sales and purchase ledger and cash management. You’ll be part of a wider team which includes another Finance Officer and two Finance Assistants. Specific duties involve:
- Maintaining and processing payroll information
- Completing statutory returns
- Reconciling control accounts
- Processing of supplier invoices and allocating within the finance system
- Reconciling supplier statements with invoices, resolving differences on the purchase ledger
- Reconciling bank accounts and dealing with discrepancies
- Inputting cash and bank transactions to the finance system
- Preparing payment runs
- Assisting in the month end process
You will be qualified at AAT Level 3 or above (or have equivalent experience) with proven experience of delivering day-to-day financial operations to an organisation. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills and have an accurate attention to detail.
