5-month contract (with potential to extend)

16 hours a week, commencing March 2019

£8.30 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the Students’ Union with our activities, campaigns and projects relating to sustainability and welfare.

This role will be part of the Union’s Activities Team and will work alongside colleagues to support the Sabbatical Officers, Student Officers and Clubs and Societies. The role will specifically work with the Vice-President Welfare to support initiatives related to student wellbeing, health, housing, environmental issues and faith.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in idea creation, as well as supporting the planning and delivery of the Union’s offer.

We are looking for is a student who is studying at the University of Southampton, has a passion for improving the student experience and is able to engage and communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, including students and academic staff. An individual with an interest in sustainability or welfare would also be of interest.

This role would initially be for 16 hours per week until the end of the current academic year, with flexibility due to academic commitments and holidays. In addition, there will be an opportunity to continue to work with the Union in to the new academic year.
