Job Description

Main Purpose of role:
To conduct research to inform the Student Written Submission (SWS)
To analyse data for presentation with the SWS
To report results as required

To Conduct Research to inform the Student Written Submission

  1. To work with the VP Academic Affairs and the Advice & Representation Manager on new and ongoing research projects
  2. To write, design and conduct qualitative and quantitative surveys, which may involve field, web, interview or focus group assessment
  3. To work with the VP Academic Affairs and Advice & Representation Manager to create and maintain project timelines

To Analyse Data

  1. To analyse and interpret data, including surveys and focus group transcripts
  2. To use relevant software to manage and organise information
  3. To work with the VP Academic Affairs and Policy and Research Co-ordinator of the Advice & Representation team to generate insight and recommendations from research results

To Report Results

  1. To write detailed reports and prepare them for publication
  2. To liaise with the VP-Academic Affairs and the Advice & Representation team regarding research results.
  3. To use written and oral reports, graphs, charts and diagrams to present findings to committees and colleagues

Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Union by:

  1. To maintain and prepare documents both on paper and electronically
  2. To attend all meetings and training events as required
  3. To assist in ensuring that statutory and legal obligations are met
  4. To support and promote SUSU’s various policies in all aspects of the role, in particular this includes the policies for Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and Ethical & Environmental
  5. To contribute to the positive image of SUSU with students, the University and the local community
