Summary of Terms and Conditions

Work Base:

Southampton University’s Highfield Campus, though responsible for activity across all campuses.

Hours of Work:

35hrs per week which will also involve some evening and weekend work.

Rate of Pay:

The salary will be paid, monthly by BACS, on level 2B of the pay spine currently in the range of £18,190 (point 13) to £21,652 (point 19) subject to experience.

Holiday Entitlement:

20 days pa increasing each year to a maximum of 24 days after four years’ service. Annual leave is usually taken during University vacations. In addition there are generally six extra holiday days, in addition to public holidays, when the Union is closed.

Pension:

The Union offers membership of the University’s Superannuation Scheme (PASNAS). The employee contributes 6.2% of salary currently and the Union 16.5%.

Probation Period:

6 months.
