Complete

It's been brought up countless times on this platform. Please can we have water without having to walk across campus to stay hydrated.

Also the promises of an update from University Estates and Facilities are getting old now, If it's not possible just say so.

Hi Pascal,

Thank you for your You make Change submission.

I don't think there is a problem with lack of availability of drinking water on campus. Certainly on Highfield I know we definitely have fountains in Building 42 and 40 as well as the Zeplar and Centenary building and Hartley library. You can also get your bottle refilled or ask for a glass of tap water from any SUSU or University outlet.

I think the problem here is more awareness of where the fountains are and accessibility to water is. You can filter by layers on maps.soton.ac.uk to find water fountains (under Amenities) however not all of them are on there. I have since spoken to the University's Estates and Facilities team and they are going to find out what data they have and will either update it with the missing data or, if they don't have it, will go out to find the data and then update.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to drop me an email to president@soton.ac.uk

Kind regards,

Emily Harrison,

SUSU President, 2019-20
