SUSU is run by students, for students. Seven full-time Sabbatical Officers are elected to lead SUSU each year. They work with over 500 elected voluntary Student Officers and a team of core and support staff to ensure we stay relevant, dynamic and effective.
From 2013 onwards we have introduced a new Zone Structure within SUSU. The new zones cover policy areas such as democracy and sustainability, and activity areas including societies, sports and student media

Students make all the decisions at SUSU through the Annual General Meeting (AGM), meeting of Union Council and the standing committees for specific areas.
As a registered charity, SUSU also has a board of trustees that ensure we meet our charitable aims. A team of core and support staff are then responsible for delivering these plans and aspirations on a day-to-day basis.
