Boldrewood Officer
Hi! My name’s Tom and I am currently in my third year studying Civil Engineering. I’m running for Boldrewood Officer in recognition of the importance of an effective route for ensuring valuable student feedback, specifically regarding campuses spaces, is understood by the Students Union and University and translated into appropriate actions.
Having acted as a Student Rep on my Placement Year I have experience liaising with students to ensure suggested improvements are conveyed to relevant academic staff. I also act as a Student Ambassador at UCAS Visit Days and led the Civil Engineering effort at the University wide open days last summer, holding responsibility for overseeing the organisation and running of the days across Boldrewood.
If elected, my initial propositions would include:
With the construction of the new National Infrastructure Laboratory, Boldrewood continues to provide opportunities for students to gain experience using industry standard facilities, but its growth brings challenges in maintaining the current standard of working space. If elected I would be excited to engage with students across the faculty to identify areas for improvement on Boldrewood, and work in parallel with the Student Reps and Faculty Officers to promote appropriate solutions.
