Do you want to save the world?

Do you hate ocean plastic?

Do you want to meet cool, sexy people to do beach cleans?

Join MCS to do all of this. We're recruiting a new committee to make sure we can keep doing these things. If you want to get involved, we'd love you to join our AGM either to run for a committee position or just to get to know us!

We will vote on all committee roles, which include:

- President : responsible for overseeing the running of the society and liaising with susu

- VP/ Secretary : responsible for helping the president and for looking after the administrative side of things (taking minutes, emailing members etc.)

- Treasurer : responsible for looking after the society's finances, including applying for grants etc.

- Kit Secretary : responsible for storing the society's kit ( litter pickers, gloves et.), bringing it to beachcleans and making sure that everything is in good condition.

- Trip Secretary : responsible for organising trips, including booking a minibus, organising travel by public transport etc.

- Outreach Secretary : responsible for organising outreach events including documentary screenings, presentations etc.

If you are interested in running for one of these positions, let us know through email usmcs@soton.ac.uk or facebook by the 22nd of April, so we can put together a form for everyone at the AGM to vote on. If you have any questions about this you can send us an email or drop me a message.

Hope to see you there!

The Organisers

Marine Conservation Society

The University of Southampton Marine Conservation society are a group of people dedicated to conserving our wonderful coastlines and oceans. It's completely free to join, and as a member you’ll be invited to a whole range of events! We organise regular beach cleans, host guest speakers, screen documentaries and organise trips to marine conservation related events all over the country. We also run society socials where you can meet new people and chill out with friends. We’ll keep you up-to-date on marine news and volunteering opportunities over social media. We have big plans and hope to get everyone engaged in marine conservation. If the health of our oceans is important to you why not come and join us?
