Hookers Knitters & Stitchers

Creative Industries

Beginners to experts socialising and sharing skills across crochet, knitting, embroidery, patchwork... and any other stitch-based activity. We aim to participate in charitable activities too. The venue for our meet-ups is usually the WSA cafe so that it is open to anybody who wishes to join in for as long as they wish to.

It is a neutral territory to encourage anybody from any course to join in whether Fine Art or Graphics, Fashion or Game Design.

External Engagement

We are a group of under/post-grad/MsC/PhD students from all disciplines who design and construct a 2-3metre long energy efficient remote control boat incorporating innovations with the aim of making shipping more efficient. The boat is entered into the international HydroContest in Lausanne, Switzerland in July. We meet on Thursdays at Boldrewood Campus - if you're interested in joining or just want to find out more, either email or Facebook message us!Throughout the year members design, construct and test a 2.5m by 2.5m water craft to carry 20kg and 200kg weights in three races. Responsible for the craft's hull, appendages, electronics and control system while marketing their team, sponsored by Hydros and UK companies interested in modern energy and nautical innovation.
