Wireless Society

The Southampton University Wireless Society (SUWS) is the university base for all things regarding amateur radio and wireless communications. Topics and interests vary from shortwave listening, HF/VHF transmission and data-mode reception. Regular outings are organised to participate in contests and volunteering. SUWS is also responsible for the upkeep of the university club callsign G3KMI. SUWS incorporates the Southampton Open Wireless Network (SOWN): an ongoing project which aims to build a free-to-use wireless network surrounding the Southampton area. Anyone is welcome to join in and start setting up additional coverage for their specific area. Meetings are every Thursday 6pm, Room 59/1257 Zepler CLS

Membership Information

These are the current membership fees offered by Wireless Society, although many clubs and societies offer a free period for new members to try out their activities.
