Here at SUWC, we cater for every level of windsurfer, from complete beginners up to international racers and advanced freestylers! The beginners start off at Southampton Sailing Club every other Wednesday as well as any other opportunities they have to get on the water, where they get the chance to progress through the beginner stages with help from our experienced instructors. The intermediates and advanced windsurfers head out across the south coast to a range of locations, from flatwater spots with bump and jump opportunities, to big wave beaches to throw some huge moves! The club owns a container full of kit that members always have access to for their own trips, including 2 foiling boards and a tandem board which any advanced windsurfers are allowed to use at will.

As much as we love to windsurf, we also love a good night out, and have weekly socials every Wednesday night. This can involve anything from a chill pub night to get to know other members, up to huge nights out touring the best of Portswood’s clubs and some crazy house parties. We also have a weekly get-together every Monday evening to discus the plans for the week and grab a pint in Stags afterwards.

The whole club regularly attend Student Windsurf Association events held all around the country which involve 2 days of windsurfing including races for all levels, a freestyle competition, beginner lessons, and many other activities to entertain all. The hosting city will also take us on 2 nights out which are always unforgettable. The hosts range from Liverpool with some legendary nightlife to our very own event – Sot’on My Face – which will be hosted at Netley Sailing Club! As well as these events, we hope to plan some club trips to places across the south coast, including some national windsurfing events such as the Weymouth Speed Week.
