Friends of MSF
We're a student group raising money and awareness for Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctor's Without Borders). MSF are a neutral, independent and impartial organisation that provide essential healthcare in conflict zones, following natural disasters, to persecuted groups and where there is simply no existing healthcare system. As MSF does not take money from national governments or political organisations, they are fully reliant on public donations, including those collected by us! We have several events throughout the year including film screenings, bake sales and national conferences and we welcome everyone, whether you just want to find out more about MSF's work or want to get involved with organising our events. You also don't need to be a medic - over 50% of MSF's staff have a non-medical background. Come along to bunfight to find out more!
Southampton Friends of MSF is a student society that supports and promotes the work of Medicins Sans Frontieres (Doctors Without Borders).
MSF is an international organisation that provides humanitarian medical aid to some of the world's most vulnerable people. They work in conflict zones, areas hit by natural disasters and epidemics, and countries where there simply isn't access to healthcare services. MSF has core principles of independence, neutrality and impartiality, meaning they help people in need regardless of race, religion, ideology or politics.
Southampton Friends of MSF runs multiple fundraisers throughout the year to raise funds and awareness, as well as holding engaging events with people who have worked for MSF and other organisations within the humanitarian aid sector. Everybody is welcome to get involved with our work, whether you just want to come to our events, help out with fundraising or even join our wonderful committee!
