Action Adam to look into distability taster week application
4. Elite and competitive sport

-Most Clubs have finished their sports fixtures except Cricket.

-Sailing, Rifle, Boat, Athletics, Windsurfing & Road Cycling have achieved exceptional results.

- There are less BUCS points available for Sailing, which is unfortunate since we normally accumulate lots of BUCS points in this sport.

-AU Ball was a success

-Sports Conference went well

- 24th position in BUCS with still some points due to some in. Hope to beat last year’s 23rd position.

5. Participation in sport

-Intramural Tournament went well and enjoyed

-Intramural Awards on Tuesday were well attended

-Taster Week for disabled sport did not happen due to lack of responses by external organisation. Adam to write a plan for next year

-There are new gangways at the Watersports Centre to make it more accessible for wheelchair users

Action Adam to write a plan for disabled sport taster weekend next year
6. Verbal reports from the student leaders (written if they have time)

All advised that the above updates covered this section.

7. Any other business

Swimming

- The SUSU AGM have asked the Sports Zone to look into getting women only sessions in the Jubilee pool for 1hr a week. The committee noted the logistical issues of the pool being completely surrounded by glass and that there may be male lifeguards on duty. Evan to find out numbers of people that would benefit from this (from Oli) and to look into whether there are any morning time slots not utilised by AU clubs that could be used.

Team Southampton online kit shop

– Lucy has been talking with Caroline about getting this onto the Box Office. Lucy is creating a document to organise logistics. Leisure wear to be available for non-AU club members. Min order of 12 kits which may affect small clubs. Set order dates for leisure wear and club determined dates for kit.

Elections of unfilled positions

– No one has so far heard of any interest in the Sports Development Zone Groups Rep position, Adam to try to get someone to run for it. If the rep is not elected it was discussed whether the groups could be supported by the AUC structure. The unfilled AUC position also needs re-advertising and electing upon.

Sport and Wellbeing

-          Screen with bookings on now in the Jubilee.

-          It was discussed that posters and the rep structure may be a way to advertise feedback forms for the Water Sports Centre, Wide Lane and the Jubilee with any comments and suggestions from student groups (e.g facility issues).

-          Evan advised that the Student Communities Zone heads up Diversity and as such may wish to do more work on getting women to women only gym sessions in the Team Southampton gym. Evan to talk to Oli and handover to Katie.

-          Evan requested that the Team Southampton Gym time slots for clubs are made available along with the other Sport and Wellbeing facilities, so clubs can start them ASAP.

Service Level Agreement

-          Document is ready to go, just need to confirm what quantities we have certain facilities in (e.g. how many lanes of a pool)

-          Will be signed off by Evan before Katie starts.

-          Includes intramural times.

Social Media and Marketing

-          Twitter feeds on the SUSU screens – Evan to handover to Katie

-          With x2 media officers it hoped there will be more of a presence for Team Southampton.

-          Evan has been talking to Guy about creating a video in a similar vain to the varsity one, but including all the teams. Evan to handover to Katie.

Action Evan to talk to Oli regarding numbers for women only swimming sessions and whether there are any appropriate time slots.
Action Lucy to create document with the kit logistics (after her exams)
Action Becki to talk to Guy about electing unfullfilled positions on AUC and Sports Development Zone
