This policy was discussed at the following meetings:

  • ‘The Students’ Union Advice and Information Centre (SUAIC) aims to provide all students at the University of Southampton with free, independent, confidential advice and representation in a friendly, relaxed environment’
  • The Laws of the Union:
    (i)   To provide and administer facilities for welfare, athletic, social, political, cultural and recreational pursuits for its members
    (ii)  To safeguard and further the educational, social and general interests of its members
    (iii) To do all such things as are conducive to the furthering of the above aims
  • The current space occupied by SUAIC is not adequate to allow for expansion of the service
  • The environmental conditions in the current space are unsuitable for staff and students
  • SUAIC should be clearly visible as an independent Students’ Union service
  • To re-locate SUAIC into a more suitable location.
