Proposal to Adopt New Standing Orders (0910P33)
Status: Lapsed | Zone: Decision Making
Passed: 13/05/2010 |
This policy was discussed at the following meetings:
- That SUSU’s Constitution and binding document is antiquated and badly laid out That it refers to many obsolete roles such as the “Permanent Secretary” and the “Union Treasurer” and does not accurately or clearly represent the governance of the Union That it is unclear and contradictory in many places And that is not reflective of a Union in the 21st Century and can be a cumbersome document.
- That SUSU’s Constitution should be clear and accessible to its membership That it should lay out the governance structure and the decision making bodies of the Union very clearly That it should be a stream lined document reflective of SUSU’s place as one of the largest and best SUs in the country.
- That it will adopt the new draft Standing Orders That the make-up of Union Council will remain the same until December 2010, at which point the committee bylaws that support the document will be in place
