Hi, I'm Samantha Higman and I'm your Vice President Welfare responsible for this zone.

The purpose of the Student Life Zone is to tackle the issues that affect students' everyday life, creating support structures and campaigning for a better quality of life.

What does the zone do?

  • City Living
    Helps make students feel safer and secure as equal members of our towns and cities.
  • Faith
    Creates cohesion between faith groups on campus, supporting and assisting students to celebrate their religion and beliefs.
  • Housing
    Tackles the issue of housing by improving housing standards and ensuring students are aware of their rights as tenants.
  • Nightline & Peer to Peer
    Develops and grows the peer to peer support networks and encourages engagement in Nightline.
  • Student Finances
    Improves students' personal management of money and increase the access and transparency of university bursaries.
  • Student Wellbeing
    Is proactive in its approach to student wellbeing by working with the University to provide an accessible service that supports all students.
