The University of Southampton Students Union exists to unlock the potential and enrich the life of every one of our 23,000 student members. We are a registered charity with a £7M turnover and provide a comprehensive platform of offers, support, representation, services and spaces for our members to enhance their overall University experience across a number of campuses.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Bars Manager to work in our multi venue bars team, based at the Students Union on the Highfield Campus of the University of Southampton. This is a hands-on role that will involve both evening and weekend work in a fast paced and busy environment. You will be part of the management team; primarily front-of-house and leading our student staff team by example.

You will bring experience of high turnover bars or restaurants and be looking to develop a career in the licensed trade. You will have the ability to thrive and to motivate others to deliver high quality work in a busy, fast-moving environment. You will enjoy working as part of a team dedicated to providing a fantastic experience to the students of the University of Southampton and will have a passion for good customer service.

The role is full time at 35 hours per week and you will benefit from a generous annual leave allowance, including time off over Christmas, Easter and on public holidays. As a Students Union, our busy periods are early summer and late September.

If you can drive up our sales while enhancing the customer experience and can deliver results that will contribute to our mission and make a real difference to the lives of our students, then we want to hear from you.
