Assistant Bars Manager

£19,850 to £23,557

35 hours per week – Full-time (including evenings and weekends)

We are currently looking to recruit someone to join our Bars team in the post of Assistant Bars Manager, the role is based at the Students’ Union on the Highfield Campus, University of Southampton.

This is a varied and hands-on role that will involve working evenings and weekends in a fast paced and busy environment, assisting with the running of the 3 Bars across the Campus.  You will be part of the management team and work primarily front-of-house and supervise our Bar Assistants and lead by example.

Ideally you will have an understanding of licensing regulations and hold a personal licence and have food hygiene training.  You must have experience of a wet led environment, trustworthy, hardworking, professional, well organised, enthusiastic, aware of trends within the industry, show great team spirit and possess excellent people skills. You will enjoy working as part of a team dedicated to providing a fantastic experience to the students of the University of Southampton and have a passion for good customer service.

You will be expected to manage and order stock, research for most competitive prices, train staff, keep the bar and cellars well organised and ensure that the bars are clean and presentable at all times.

The successful applicant will be working 35 hours a week which will include evenings and weekends.
