About the role

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, service-orientated individuals to join our team of student staff.

Our Retail Student Staff role will involve you working flexibly across different areas of the SUSU Shop, meaning you will have the opportunity to be cross-trained and develop experience in different retail functions, including shop floor, tills and bakery.

You will work alongside our permanent, core staff, as well as other student staff and there may be opportunities in the future to be trained in other areas of SUSU, such as food & beverage or reception.

At the heart of our work is a passion for quality and friendly customer service. We offer flexible working opportunities with hours to suit you and your studies.

Weekly hours range between 8-10 on average (dependant on your availability).

Social Enterprise

Working in the SUSU Shop will see you provide a great level of service to our customers in a busy retailing environment: everything from handling and managing stock, replenishing shelves and displays through to working the busy tills and maintaining a clean and organised shop – all with a smile on your face.

Please note that shifts will primarily be available from September 2026. Interested? Click ‘Apply now’ to provide your CV and cover letter!

Please note that we do not have vacancies available throughout the year. Once you submit an application, we will keep your details on file for 6 months, but this does not guarantee that you will receive an interview.

Please note feedback will not be provided if you are not shortlisted for interview.

SUSU is an equal opportunities employer which values a diverse workforce and we want to reflect the student body that we represent. We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination, and will ensure that our recruitment activities are mindful of equality and diversity matters.
