Hi,
I met with the Transportation Manager yesterday for an update and was informed that Unilink is keen to perform a consultation of local residences before this switch occurs. Due to upcoming changes to some other routes and other local consultations taking place, this consultation will occur in March with likely implementation of a change over summer. These action points have been solidified and will be carried out in these set time frames.
I am going to close this submission now as this has been actioned, if you have any further questions please feel free to make another submission or email me directly at president@soton.ac.uk

I agree - students which are based in and around bevois valley are faced with a problem of either getting on the U6, which does not take the most direct route to the university taking a significant amount of time, or walking to the nearest U1 bus stop (a route which is far more direct). For many students in these areas the nearest U1 bus stop is on the avenue or portswood waitrose, the walk to which can be as far as half the whole journey.
The temporary route made the route more accessible for many students and Unilink should consider reverting it
