One of the points of a student union is to deliver the absolute best value for money for its students. Having a charge for the use of cards in outlets such as Stags and The Shop completely contradicts this. Contactless cards are increasingly the most convenient and popular method of paying for things, why can't the Union simply absorb the costs associated with the use of debit and credit cards? After all, they seemed to have a spare £30k to spend on a pointless re-brand last year.

Hi,
Thanks for your idea!
It looks likely that this will be a topic that is discussed at our AGM on 17th May, so keep a look out for that part of the meeting and come along to have your say!
It was also discussed at our Operations and Services Advisory Forum, where it was suggested that a couple of alternative solutions could be put out for students to decide! If I get an update on this I will let you know.
