As is starting to become standard now, mark down the prices of the sandwiches, pasta, baked goods etc as they reach the end of their shelf life - even give them away for free if they go unsold.

Hi Euan,

Thank you for your suggetsion, once again! I have spoken with The Shop management and they have confirmed that there is highly minimal wastage. This is ensured through a couple of methods:

1) We used a method called "sale and return" where if anything goes out of date or near end of shelf life, the product is sent back to the company and we are refunded for the good.

2) We do reduce prices on products past their "best before" date.

Sometimes, there is a very small amount of pastries left over at close of shop- but these are not wasted as are offered to support staff on duty.

For our other outlets, we are looking to reduce (again minimal food wastage) by partnering with local homeless charities. If you would like to be invovled with this or discuss sustainable ideas further please come to our next Sustainability Zone meeting on November 26th 1pm-3pm.

Best wishes,

Hi Euan,

Thanks for your submission! We do currently mark down items in the shop that are near their shelf life, in addition we are currently looking into ways that we can give students left over food from our outlets. This is all currenlty under investigation and I will get back to you as soon as I hear more :)

Best wishes,
