Provide more study spaces. (part2)

Complete

The library is already packed and we are not even in exam season. Looking for a place to study on campus should really be the last of our worries.

It is true that not all students are in Highfield and there are other places to find seats and computers but the reality is that there aren't that many places available or computer rooms that are not booked during the day.

It appears that new building due to open in 2019 will only provide maybe 100/300 study spaces (might be incorrect) and will not improve massively the situation.

Hello again!

Hopefully you were able to keep an eye on the discussion at the AGM last week - if not, our VP DCI Evie Reilly is in the process of writing a blog post to go through the happenings in more detail, or you can watch SUSUtv's recording of the discussion here (https://www.facebook.com/SUSUtv/videos/1738292842869897/). We were able to cover a great deal of ground during these discussions, so hopefully we were able to at least partially touch on your queries.

I'm also pleased to confirm that the Education Zone is completing a wider piece of work on Study Spaces, with a survey currently doing the rounds here (https://sususurvey.typeform.com/to/LkqvjS). Your input would be really appreciated in this!

I'm keen to continue work on this, particularly with regards to your other You Make Change submission which I am still waiting for a reply on. However, I'm going to close this one and move our conversation over there once the Library have responded.

As always, don't hesitate to drop me an email (vpeducation@susu.org) if you have any more questions!

All the best,

Samuel Dedman (VP Education, 2017/18)
