VICTORY IS OURS!

Team Southampton dominated Varsity and brought the trophy home with 206 wins!

Leadership Elections 2025

Thank you for engaging in our Leadership Elections 2025.

We had over 12,800 votes and over 3,700 voters.

We had a great turnout! An extra 311 students voted this year, bringing participation to 15%!

Team Southampton Success

The Men’s Football 1st team were named BUCS Western 2A champions after having an unbeaten season, and will play in Tier 1 next year!

Fundraising

RAG raised £15,00+ across 32 events in March & April!

Standouts included a 24-hour cricket match hosted by SUCC, which raised over £1794, a Triathlon, an Aquathon, an Irish dance ceilidh, Medsoc Monty, Vixens ‘Pie a Cheerleader’ and a Fight Night, which raised £10.2k in one night alone!
 

Big Wins For Dance Societies

Our Salsa Society won its first competition as a Wildcard at the Portsmouth Dance competition. 

The Advanced Street, Tap & Jazz Societies all won 1st at the Loughborough Dance competition, which is the most competitive university dance comp!

The Advanced Jazz Dance Society even went viral on TikTok!

Culture Festival

Our cultural societies hosted a vibrant Cultural Day, with over 400 students and 15+ societies celebrating through delicious food, exciting performances, and captivating exhibitions.

Highlights included 12 events, such as SIT & EAT, a colourful Holi celebration with 200+ participants, the beloved Sikh Langar serving 600+, and the thrilling Persian Fire Festival!

Women’s History Month

Women’s History Month – 17 clubs ran taster sessions for Women in Sports Week, and 9 brilliant Instagram Takeovers spotlighted incredible women in sport.

Our weekly Hall of Fame on social media celebrated many inspiring women, with some nominated multiple times!

March & April Quiz & Chips jackpot total was over £600

Trips & Tours: Oxford Trip

Oxford Trip: 32 students explored the renowned Oxford University, enjoying its rich history and vibrant campus.

Break the Ice toured campuses and welcomed 50+ new students across campuses.

We hosted our first Sculpt & Sip event, which welcomed over 50 amazing students!

SUSU Sustainability

Wildflower Takeover at Waitrose Portswood!
SUSU volunteers transformed donated flower beds with bee-friendly plants, with support from Waitrose.
 
Strengthening Sustainable Partnerships.
We visited TeeMill on the Isle of Wight to strengthen sustainable partnerships with our Locker supplier!
 
Don’t Ditch It; Donate It!
Partnering with Anglo Doorstep, they now offer free clothing and small item collections. Book your collection and learn about decluttering sustainably while supporting charity.
