All Student Vote

1,155 petition signatures kick-started an all-student vote on Alumni email accounts!
 
Since then, a further 3953 students have backed keeping the alumni email accounts – our strongest mandate this year!

Team Southampton Sports Awards

Over 190 guests attended the Team Southampton Sports Awards, where many accolades were given out celebrating all sporting achievements.

Academic Awards

At the Academic Awards, there were 43 winners and 14 nominees who were highly commended.

Southampton RAG

£1,888 was raised in May and 18 events were held in the name of RAG!

The biggest RAG events have included a 12-hour CPR-athon (Nursesoc), a Gunge a Captain (RAG) event, an Archery Club charity shoot, and a Water Polo charity tournament.

Indonesian Culture Festival

The Indonesian Society hosted the Indonesian Culture Festival at The Cube, attracting 134 attendees, including the Mayor of Southampton and the Indonesian Ambassador.

The event highlighted Indonesia’s vibrant spirit through a mix of cultural showcases.

Pure Dance

Union Southampton Dance Association’s Pure Dance event sold out – 1,200 tickets, 260 dancers, and 11 societies!

You Are More Than

You Are More Than has been a success, with over 600 participants engaging in YAMT activities!

Over 240 library freebies were given out! And over 120 students cuddled Therapy Dogs, whilst raising a total of £117.08 for their charity!

Grad Ball

All 2,500 Grad Ball Tickets have sold out in record time!

Student Experience Survey

82% of students gave SUSU positive feedback in May’s student survey – That’s +3% since December!

Summer Elections 2025

40 out of 49 senior-rep roles have already been filled – which is almost a whole team for 2025-26 already!

Rate Your Crib

We’ve had over 800 responses so far, which is shaping next year’s housing campaign nicely. You have until Monday 30 June, to share your views.

SUSU Venues

Over 109,000 people have been served across all our SUSU outlets in May.

The busiest day in the Stag’s this month was Friday 09 May, with 950 pints sold in one day!

Freshers

 
Look out for our new Fresher’s Assistants in September! 36 new fresher’s assistants were recruited this month, ready for a busy and fun Freshers’ 2025!

Sustainability

The Beekeeping Society planted a native hedge at Broadlands, creating a new wildlife glade that provides shelter and forage for bees and other pollinators.
 
SUSU held its annual Summer Street Party with the Outer Avenue Residents’ Association, attracting a great turnout from the local community. Even the Police Community Support Ocers joined in for face painting.
