Celebrating Diwali Melia

Over 200 students participated in our Diwali Mela and more than 300 sparklers illuminated Redbrick, celebrating the triumph of light over darkness!
 
This year, we collaborated with both the Indian Society and the Hindu Society, and the event featured a wish board, henna art, and dance performances from the SKBD and Bollywood Societies.
 

Ace Awareness Week

We teamed up with the LGBTQ+ Society, featuring students and your VP Education, who provided insightful testimonials highlighting their diverse experiences on campus.
 
The ACE Week Mixer offered a welcoming space for students to connect and build community.

Black History Month

Black History Month 2025 was a vibrant success!

Uniting students with a Gala, Afrodance, and Paint & Sip.

Spooks, Sips & Sell-Outs Event

We sold a massive 860+ tickets in October! Sell-outs for Oktoberfest, Paint & Sip, Sculpt & Sip, Purge (Southampton’s biggest Halloween club night!), and the UniLife Bath trip.

And our craft events buzzed with creativity making bracelets, felt flags, clay ghosts and bookmarks.

We also launched the Events Forum with Union President Emma – keep an eye on our socials to jump into the next one!

Venue Highlights

We sold over 4,243 sausage rolls and 3,080 Pain Au Chocs in the shop this month!

The Stag’s saw 8,695 £2.75 pints poured this month. with 5,000+ Stag’s Lager alone.

2-4-1 Tuesdays are flying – serving up 150-180 pizzas a week, with 901 sold so far!

Quiz & Chips

A fantastic total of £1,173 in quiz prize money was won during our first 5 events of the year!

Autumn Elections 2025

Our Biggest Autumn Elections Yet

We had a record Autumn Elections with 2,761 voters (+700 YOY) and 627 candidates (+200 YOY). We elected just under 400 course reps; and after co-options we’re now closer to 500! Thank you for participating!

Society of the Month

Beekeeping Soc: They came 2nd and 3rd in Honey Show contests, organised beeswax and candle-making activities, and are headed to the National Honey Show later this year.

Club of the Month

Golf Club: They’ve shown growth, organisation, and community, whilst setting new records. They had 100+ at their Freshers’ Taster session and nearly 100 members signed up, uniting students through sport and socials.

National Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick

With the Res Life Cycle Team, SUSU joined the Big Hog Friendly Litter Pick. Around Wessex Lane and Archer’s Road halls, we collected 10kg+ of rubbish – plus a couple of feline hellos. Residents thanked volunteers for being visible and active in the neighbourhood.

Advice Centre

The Advice Centre has helped over 450 students – from Academic/Regs, Conflict, Finance, Housing and many other things.
