Beyond the walls of the Hartley Library, here’s a bunch of places that you might want to set yourself up for a study session over the next two weeks!
On Avenue Campus
Take yourself around the 2nd floor of Building 65 to find a spot, head to the back of the building for the general study spaces or hunker down in a computer room!
Don’t forget that many of the classrooms throughout avenue are Common learning Spaces, so they count as bookable rooms! If you’ve got a group project on the go or a squad of friends ready to huddle up and study hard, see what’s available on the Bookings Portal.
At the Winchester School of Art
The WSA Library is open from 8am to 5pm, every weekday, and closed at the weekends.
Don’t forget there are study rooms tucked away in Building 63A on the East Side, computer rooms scattered across every East Side building, and computer rooms on the West Side! Find them on the 2nd floor of whichever building you’re in!
As always, you can get comfy at the café or tuck yourself in your favourite quiet corner, although I’m not sure whether sitting in the Rotunda counts… surely there aren’t any corners in there?
At the Southampton General Hospital
The Health Sciences Library is open from 8am to 8pm, every day!
In the City Centre
The Sir James Matthews building is packed with some massive study spaces and will be open from 8am till 8pm every weekday and closed at the weekends.
The NOCS Library is open from 8am to 8pm, every weekday, and closed at the weekends.
On Highfield Campus
The Hartley Library is in full swing; it’s open 24 hours every day!
In Building 42, the main SUSU Building, there is…
- Seating throughout the Bridge itself, and plenty of tables around the concourse at SUSU Reception, up on Level 4. This might be the place if you’re also after a caffeine boost or a sweet treat to pull you through a long day!
- A mix of comfy spots, from bean bags to sofas, plus a bunch of tables throughout Above Deck and the Veg Out spaces on Level 3. Microwaves available too!
- Sofas tucked away under the stairs, all the way down in Below Deck on Level 2.
In Building 100, the Centenary Building, there is open access to every floor of study space from 8am to 8pm every weekday, and from 12:30pm to 7:30pm for the next two weekends.
In Building 37, the Student Hub, there’s a bunch of desks and seats where you can settle in silence.
Plus, there’s loads of corridors with a few tables and chairs scattered around, especially in places like Building 46 (Physics).
