Why vote for Charlotte?

Over the past year, I’ve been honoured to serve as the course representative for first-year PAIR students. During this time, I’ve worked to promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment - values I will continue to uphold as your next Department President.

A top priority of mine will be improving employability opportunities for Politics students. Surveys I’ve conducted show that 60–75% of first-year students believe employability support could be improved. In response, I plan to organise dedicated networking events connecting students with alumni, academics, and professionals across politics and related fields. This initiative would provide valuable insights and contacts, giving students a head start in this competitive field.

I also want to strengthen our sense of community. Other departments benefit from regular social events, and we should too! From themed socials and activity nights to trips and events, I’ll work to create more opportunities for students across all years (UG & PG) and staff to connect and take pride in our department.

Finally, I will ensure every student voice is heard, from undergraduates to postgraduates. This means more regular feedback opportunities and greater transparency around decisions that impact your academic experience.

I’ve already shown my commitment to representing PAIR students - now let’s take that further! Together, we can build a PAIR community that is supportive, ambitious, and united.

Thank you for your time. I’d really appreciate your support through your vote.
