Why vote for Olivia?
I'm proud to stand for nomination as President of the SSPC student course representatives.
Over the past year, I've served as the Year 1 Criminology course representative, working closely with students and staff to raise concerns and push for improvements. I've seen firsthand how effective representation can create real, positive change; this year alone, I brought the issue of abuse and racism on Vevox to the attention of senior staff through your feedback and guaranteed this was dealt with correctly.
Our fields challenge injustice, question inequalities and explore the complexities of society. As President, I will bring this same critical spirit to representing your voices. I am committed to being an approachable, proactive leader who ensures your concerns are clearly communicated and constructively addressed.
My priorities include advocating for fair assessment practices, improving the quality and timeliness of feedback, expanding access to mental health support, and creating more opportunities for students to engage in research, internships, and career development.
I will foster stronger collaboration between student reps and the department, and ensure reps are empowered and supported to make meaningful change. Regular forums and feedback sessions will help us stay connected and focused on what matters most to you.
Together, we can continue shaping a department that listens, adapts and thrives.
