Why vote for Alex?

As the current PGR Officer for the Faculty of Medicine, I feel that I have made good progress so far in the Faculty regarding the needs of Medicine PGRs. I now have good experience in attending committees and getting involved in initiatives around the university concerning: student experience, EDI, wellbeing, work/life balance and student/staff relationships. I aim to keep this momentum going into the next academic year. I have made good connections in the Graduate School, Doctoral College and University Senate, which will help us develop further initiatives and work on feedback given by Medicine PGRs.

Collecting this feedback and encouraging communication through the Faculty has been a key part of my year of work so far. I hope this has been well-received through our increased numbers and coverage of student representation, and regular student fora where I give updates on events, opportunities, and what the Faculty is working on as a result of student feedback. These are connections which I hope to solidify and expand on in the coming year, and will help to achieve our other goals.

I hope we can continue to make good progress together, and whether elected or not I am committed to improving the student experience for all Medicine PGRs!
