Why vote for Tawshipa?

Hello! My name is Tawshipa Jarin, and I am running to be your Department President for Aeronautics and Astronautics. I am currently a Year 1 Course Representative and a SUSU Senator. I also completed my Engineering Foundation Year here, alongside a summer internship within the university. These experiences in the past 2 years have given me a deeper understanding of how to efficiently communicate student concerns to academic staff and initiate real changes.

Being in my second year next academic year, I will be in a unique position to bridge the gap between all student levels—from first years to final-year MEng students. I have noticed that master's students often feel underrepresented, and I will make it a priority to ensure they are heard. I will work closely with course representatives across all years to keep feedback channels active throughout the year, instead of just during the Student-Staff Liaison Committee meetings (SSLC).

If elected, I will focus on ensuring course reps are well-supported and motivated, making sure departmental communication is inclusive and effective. I want to make the Aero-Astro student experience the best it can be!

Vote for me, so that I can make your voice heard!
