Why vote for Katie?
Hi everyone,
I’m Katie, a Second Year MChem Chemistry student.
For the past two years I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a Course Rep, building strong relationships with academics and staff, and working alongside them to make tangible change. Thanks to your feedback, this includes altering the Quantum Dots practical, introducing accessible lab scripts in the Level 5 teaching lab, pushing for additional resources and alternative assessment formats for CHEM2025, and securing more appropriate lecture theatres for our cohort sizes.
If elected as your School President, I'll continue to provide honest, practical feedback to the department, ensuring your voices are heard and considered at every level of decision-making.
My goals include:
- Acting as a reliable point of contact for our community and fellow course reps, committed to collaborating with students across all year groups.
- Advocating for more stringent channels of communication between supervisors and undergraduates, ensuring every student receives the support they need to succeed.
- Improving access to academic resources, including expanding existing bridging materials, so everyone starts their degree with the necessary foundation.
- Working closely with ChemSoc to provide a more integrated, inclusive community experience.
With your support, I am confident we can facilitate positive change and make our school an even better place for learning and growth.
Thank you for considering me as your next School President.
