Why vote for Sofie?

I am applying for the role of Student Councillor because I am interested in supporting the University of Southampton Students' Union foster an inclusive, accountable and transparent body of governance.

This past summer I completed an internship with PwC in their Risk Assurance department and will be returning this year. This experience has provided me with the relevant skills to engage in a continuous compliance evaluation, much like what the Student Councillor role requires.

In addition, my experience serving as Prefect, Deputy Head and later Head Girl at my high school provided me with the understanding of the demands of a leadership position and the importance of transparency in decision making. Through this experience, I had been given the opportunity to lead weekly meetings with the student leadership team, present to the Board of Directors and represent my school in international conferences.

As a Business Management student, much of my studies involve analysis of decision making and the ethical considerations involved which I believe to be quite beneficial for the role of Student Councillor.

In summary, I believe my experiences have equipped me with the necessary skills to foster an inclusive, transparent and accountable environment. If elected I would be committed to ensuring SUSU policy is practical and beneficial to all.

Thank you for your consideration and I hope I can count on your vote!
