Pedro Caballero - Medicine Faculty Officer

I should be your next Faculty Officer for Medicine due to my extensive experience working closely with faculty and my consistent involvement in the student body. 

During my time at university, I have served as both Year 1 and Year 2 Course Representative, as well as President of Southampton Medical Society (2025–26). These roles have allowed me to develop strong working relationships with faculty members and a clear understanding of how to effectively advocate for student needs. As a result, no time would be wasted on introductions and settling in and I can continue with existing conversations and progressing ongoing initiatives from day one.

Furthermore, I have proven my commitment by bringing about genuine change such as ntroducing Southampton's first ever branded scrubs and making huge renovations to the common room in the General hospital. 

As Faculty Officer, I intend to continue my scrubs project and work towards them becoming the standard in the university. In addition, I would like to work towards these scrubs being dispensed for free. In addition, I will continue my work trying to improve student spaces by dedicating one for medical students on Highfield campus. I also want to begin a monthly "You asked, We did" bulletin to improve transparency between students and faculty and keep everyone in the loop with certain projects.

I am a very appoachable and friendly person and I am always open to hearing people's opinions and thoughts. More importantly, I am not afraid to relay these back to faculty and make a positive change for my peers. I do my best to meet as many people as I can in every cohort in medicine making me easy to get a hold of.
