Why vote for Jennifer?
Hi, I am Jenny, an Acoustical Engineering student. I am running to be ISVR Department President.
I have had experience over the past year being Part 1 Course Rep, and a consistent part of feedback I have received is the difficulty of searching through Blackboard to find exam materials. Sometimes, it can feel like the treasure hunt during the Freshers' Week of First Year Acoustics. As President, one of the things I would like to do is to create a centralised Exam Hub - a clear, accessible place for everything you need to prepare during the exam periods without the stress of searching for a specific folder or website. It would include important information such as past papers, rubrics, exam timings, paper type, exam advice and regulations etc.
As Course Rep, I have also enjoyed taking the cohort's feedback to SSLCs, and hearing feedback from other years too. As President, I'd have the opportunity to take those conversations further and ensure that the feedback is acted upon.
I also want to further strengthen the connections between industry and our department - for example, through guest talks - so that students have the chance to network with experts and secure future opportunities.
I want to make sure that I am approachable and easy to talk to. Whether it is a suggestion for a way in which the department could improve, or a concern that needs to be addressed, I would like to listen and represent your voice.
