Why vote for Indigo?
Hi everyone! I'm running to be your Faculty Officer for Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) because I am deeply passionate about advocating for your needs and ensuring your voice is heard at the highest levels of our faculty.
Over my time at Southampton, I have held multiple committee roles. These experiences have taught me how to effectively navigate university structures and properly advocate for my peers. Simply put, I love helping people, and I want to bring that dedication to a broader scale.
The primary job of the Faculty Officer is bridging the gap between staff and students. During meetings, when massive amounts of complex information is discussed, my main priority will be to digest this information and translate it into clear, transparent updates for Senior reps and students. I want to make sure you are always in the loop about decisions that affect your degree, without having to sift through the jargon yourselves.
As engineering students, we all know how intense deadlines can be. Because I understand the heavy workload of our degrees, my approach to this role will be highly practical. As the Faculty Officer position evolved to include larger initiatives, I will focus my energy on realistic, impactful projects that directly improve our student experience and well-being, rather than making empty promises.
I am approachable, experienced and always ready to listen to what you want changed within our department. I would be honoured to have your vote so we can work together to make the Engineering department a more supportive, communicative and transparent environment for everyone.
