Tian Xu - Student Trustee

Starting university in a new country has shown me how important strong student support truly is. Experiencing this transition has made me more aware of how much students rely on the SU to represent their interets effectivly. As a first year computer science student from Portugal, I believe I can bring a fresh perspective and motivation to ensure every student feels heard and represented.

I understand that the role of student trustee requires decision making that is transparent financially responsible and in the best interest of students. It's not juist about representing opinions, but also contributing to the union's long term stratgy, accountability and sustainability. I am prepared to approach this responsibility with an analytical mindset and a willingness to question decisions and ask important questions. 

I am particularly motivated to ensure that major SU decisions are relevant to all students, especially those who may be less coinfident engaging with student representation. I want to help bridge the gap between students and decision making, ensuring the SU's long term strategy reflect the needs of the wider student body.

If elected, I will represent the interests of the wider student body, and contribute to ensuring the SU continues to be a well run, acountable and student focused organisation.
