  • Communicating all council decisions to students clearly
  • Ensuring that SUSU decisions are shaped by student priorities only

Why vote for Isobel?

I’m standing for Student Councillor because I want students to have clear, honest and effective representation. The Students’ Union makes decisions that affect all of us, especially those in societies,so it is really important that those decisions are transparent, accountable and shaped by student voices.

If elected, I would approach the role by asking practical questions: what has been promised, what progress is being made, and how will students feel the impact? I will ensure Sabbatical Officers actually are following through on their promises, by holding them accountable when needed. (I also ran to be a Sabb this year, so I know what their manifestos were and what they promised to do inside out!)

I also want to help make the Council more visible and accessible. Many students are not always aware of what is being discussed or how they can contribute to these decisions. I would work to communicate key decisions clearly to students (ensuring they can trust those that represent them) gather student feedback, and make sure concerns from different groups across the university are brought into the room.

I would bring a thoughtful, balanced and approachable perspective, and I would work to make the Council a space where students feel heard and where decisions genuinely reflect student priorities.
