Why vote for Jin?
From my previous role as a Business Specialist, I gained plenty of experience listening to different people, gathering their needs and communicating ideas clearly to those responsible for making decisions. My work often involved sorting through mixed feedback, identifying common concerns and turning them into practical suggestions. I believe these skills are highly relevant to the role of a Student Councillor.
As an international master’s student, I understand first-hand the small but real frustrations that overseas students can face, whether related to academic support, campus facilities or general student welfare. I also believe that students from different courses and backgrounds may have different needs, and that every voice deserves to be considered.
If elected, I will make myself approachable and create an open channel for students to share their concerns. I will collect and organise feedback, identify common or urgent issues, bring them to Union Council meetings and keep students informed about discussions and progress. I hope to act as a reliable link between students and the Union, ensuring that concerns do not simply get raised but are followed up where possible.
I cannot promise that every issue can be solved, but I can promise to listen seriously, represent students fairly and push for realistic, practical improvements for our university community.
