Lily Mitchell - Student Councillor

Hi I’m Lily, I’m a 3^rd year Criminology and psychology student. I am running for Student Councillor as I believe in prioritising transparency, accountability and representation for all students at Southampton.

It’s important that decisions made by SUSU are transparent and in the best interests of students. As Student Councillor I will make sure plans and choices are scrutinised to ensure these values are upheld.

My previous role as a course representative has given me experience in voicing student opinions and collaborating with others to make decisions. I want to use this experience to represent students and ensure accountability for the decisions made by SUSU.

Listening to student feedback will be a priority, this will allow me to make informed decisions and push for effective solutions to any issues. This also means communicating information back to students in a clear manner to encourage engagement and guarantee the student voice is heard.

If elected I will ensure that Sabbatical Officers are held accountable, decisions are made transparently and students are kept informed to work towards a better SUSU!
