Why vote for Ali?
As a Joint Honours Philosophy student, I understand that students can sometimes feel overlooked, particularly when studying across multiple disciplines. I want to be a Student Councillor because I believe students should have a clear voice in decisions that affect their university experience.
Through my work experience in financial services and recruitment, I have developed strong communication and teamwork skills. I have worked with a range of people, helped organise networking events, and learned how important it is to listen carefully to different viewpoints before representing them. These experiences have given me the confidence to speak up, raise concerns constructively, and work with others to find solutions.
If elected, I want to improve communication between students and decision-makers and make sure students know how their feedback is being used. I would also like to encourage greater engagement with opportunities available through the University and SUSU, as many students are unaware of the support, events, and resources available to them.
Most importantly, I want to be someone students feel comfortable approaching. I will listen to concerns, represent them honestly, and work to ensure that student voices are taken seriously. My aim is to help create a more connected and positive experience for students across the University.
