Kaylee 'Poonyawee' Vatcharakomolpun - Student Councillor

I am standing for Student Councillor because I genuinely care about making sure students are heard and that the people representing us are accountable for what they promise to do.

From being a Course Representative and taking on different roles within student societies, I have had many opportunities to listen to students, bring their concerns forward, and work with different people across the University and SUSU. These experiences have shown me that good representation is not just about speaking up, it is also about listening, asking questions, following things up, and making sure something actually happens.

If elected, I want to bring that same approach to Student Council. I will actively engage with Sabbatical Officers’ plans and progress, ask questions when things need clarification, and make decisions based on what I believe best reflects students’ concerns and experiences. I also want Council to feel less distant from the students it represents. I will do my best to keep students informed about what is happening, encourage more people to share their views, and be someone you can genuinely approach with an issue or idea.
